It was in January when crypto investor and minor Youtube celebrity Pavel Nyashin was attacked in Leningrad Oblast. Robbers took over 400 thousand dollars cash along with the safe, after Nyashin had been showing off stacks of money in his recent Youtube videos.
After the attack Pavel Nyashin moved to St. Petersburg’s suburbs and stopped posting videos on his now defunct Youtube channel. Local media reports that an investigation has been opened, hinting that circumstances of Nyashin’s death weren’t clear.
Just month after Nyashin was robbed in January, another crypto robbery took place in Russia, when cryptocurrency PRISM creator Yury Mayorov was robbed for astonishing 300 Bitcoins, that was worth over 3 million dollars at the time. Kidnappers also took 20 thousand dollars in cash and also three Mayorov’s Iphone’s.
In December last year there was kidnaping in Ukraine, where Pavel Lerner was victim of a crime in Kiev when held for ransom. He was released couple of days later and more than 1 million dollars in Bitcoins was paid to criminals.
