Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how CryptoVigilante collects, uses, stores, and protects information in connection with your use of cryptovigilante.net. We have written this policy to be read by a real person, not to satisfy a legal checkbox. If you have questions about any aspect of it, use our contact page and we will answer them plainly. This policy applies to all visitors and users of the site, regardless of where in the world you are accessing it from.

What We Collect Automatically

When you visit any page on this site, our web server and analytics infrastructure automatically record certain technical data about your visit. This includes your IP address, which may indicate your approximate geographic location at a country or city level but does not identify you personally. It includes the specific pages you visited, the order you visited them in, how long you spent on each page, and whether you arrived from a search engine, a direct link, or a referral from another site. It also includes your browser type and version, your operating system, and the type of device you used to access the site. This data is used in aggregate to understand how our content performs, identify technical problems, and make decisions about what to cover and how to present it. None of it is used to build a personal profile of individual visitors, and none of it is sold.

Analytics Tools We Use

We use PostHog for product and content analytics. PostHog collects the behavioural data described above and makes it available to us in aggregate and session-level form. We use this to understand which research content is most useful, where users encounter friction, and how people navigate between platform reviews and information pages. PostHog processes data under its own privacy policy and data processing terms, which you can review at posthog.com. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any advertising network tracking tools on this site. We do not participate in any behavioural advertising programme. The analytics tools we use are limited to those that help us improve editorial quality, not those that help third parties build advertising profiles.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to operate this site. Strictly necessary cookies handle session management and security functions including CSRF protection for form submissions. These cannot be disabled without breaking core site functionality. Analytics cookies, set by PostHog, collect the behavioural data described above and persist for up to one year. You can disable these through your browser settings without affecting your ability to read any content on the site. We do not set advertising cookies, we do not use third-party remarketing pixels, and we do not allow any advertising network to set cookies through our pages. For a full breakdown of the specific cookies we use, refer to our Cookie Policy.

When you click a referral link on this site that takes you to a third-party crypto platform, that platform may place tracking cookies on your device to record that you were referred by us. This tracking happens on the third-party platform, not on our site, and is governed entirely by that platform\'s own privacy and cookie policies. We have no control over the data that third-party platforms collect after you leave our site, and we take no responsibility for their data practices. If you want to understand what data a specific platform collects when you register, read their privacy policy before creating an account. We recommend doing this regardless of how you arrived at their site.

Information You Submit to Us

If you use our contact form or scam report form, we collect the information you choose to provide: your name, email address, and the content of your message. For scam reports, this may also include the name of the platform you are reporting, dates and amounts involved, and any supporting details you choose to share. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry or conduct the investigation you have requested. We do not add you to any marketing list. We do not share your contact details with any third party for any commercial purpose. We do not share the identity of scam reporters with the platforms being reported under any circumstances. Contact and report data is retained only for as long as necessary to address the matter it relates to, and is then deleted.

Data Security

We implement standard technical and organisational security measures to protect the data we hold. This includes encrypted transmission over HTTPS, access controls limiting who within our operation can access stored data, and regular review of our security practices. No method of data transmission or storage over the internet is completely immune to breach, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. What we can guarantee is that we take our obligations seriously, that we collect only what we need, and that we do not hold data longer than necessary. If we ever became aware of a breach affecting personal data submitted by users, we would notify affected individuals promptly.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under applicable data protection law. These commonly include the right to know what personal data we hold about you, the right to request correction of inaccurate data, the right to request deletion of your data, and the right to object to certain types of processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our contact page. We will respond within the timeframe required by the law applicable to your situation. We do not charge a fee for reasonable requests, and we will not use a request to access or delete your data as grounds to deny you access to our content.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices change, when we adopt new tools, or when legal requirements evolve. When we do, the date at the top of this page will be updated. For material changes that affect how we handle data you have already submitted, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate those changes clearly. Continued use of the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you have concerns about any change, contact us before continuing to use the site and we will address them directly.
